fourth time lucky?

For this Article, and also to celebrate being able to actually leave the house - no longer afflicted by that horrendous flu - I decided to go to a beach just down the road to take some photographs.
There is a photograph I have been trying to achieve for some time now. It’s a fence, that seems to go nowhere and sits, for no reason, in the water off the beach – one of those very quaint Tasmanian sights that are pretty cool when you find them (you will see what I mean further down the article!). Unfortunately my lack of being able to co-ordinate the weather patterns, the tides and my availability to actually get there has been less than ideal.
On a previous trip down to the same spot, I bumped into a man riding a bike who stopped for a chat. I mentioned my frustration at the tide always being such a long way from the coast and he told me to follow the beach around the headland to a beautiful stretch of rocky beach, some of my favourite places to photograph have been found simply by following someone’s advice.
I followed his directions and indeed was taken to a beautiful place but that night was a little too wild to get the camera out, it was almost too wild to get out of the car!
I returned to the spot this week and spent a beautiful, peaceful evening taking some nice images.

The sand coloured rocks seem to glow in the fading light of the day, That's Mount Wellington on the horizon. I had to use a .9nd grad filter to hold back the powerful light in the upper left of this image.

As the clouds turn crimson and the sun fades, a soft light is cast onto the rocks.

Once the sun had set and the sky was in 'afterglow' I decided to return to the beach to see if I could make an interesting photograph using the fence. I like this image although I can't wait for the day when I go back and find the tide in. One day?
I'm hoping to dive next week so I might have some more underwater adventures for you in the next blog.
Until then hope you are having a great year
;-)
